Akimbo Comics – Comics Everyone Can Hate

I just finished reading Love and Rockets: New Stories 3 and it was incredible! If you love comics and aren’t an obsessive fan of Jaime Hernandez…then, I don’t know what but you should be. Just superb storytelling, gorgeous linework, dynamic compositions, real three-dimensional characters. Hernandez’s “actors” say so much with so little. I was blown away. I also saw Black Swan today and was again blown away. I (clearly) love the themes adressed and don’t think I’ve ever seen them handled this well. It made everything I’ve ever done seem small and clumsy and horrible — which is good because now I can work to be better.
