Kind of sexist don’t you think? Your sexualization of the women’s body in most of your comics haven’t bothered me much, cause you compensate with great themes/dialogue (although, a lot of your stuff is kind of anti-existentialism… which isn’t bad)… but this is a bit much, even if it is satirical. I mean… you’ve even got the statue of wonder woman in the background of the last scene? A woman that represents a strong, independent women… and you have her stripped naked. I’m not a crazy feminist or anything… but thought I’d say something… most women don’t think like this.
Charges of sexism are the most distressing to me because they’re most likely true. I make an effort to not be hateful and to balance the more juvenile with more nuanced portrayals. In this case I had deemed this comic unworthy to publish but then when going through old sketches I ran across it and was taken by surprise by the last panel and laughed. I figured if I laughed someone else might too. The rest of the comic excluding the last panel is actually based on certain men I know. It was never intended to be a criticism of women in general or even a certain type of woman but a certain type of thinking with a somewhat incongruous punchline based more on the character’s personal thinking than that of her whole gender. But you’re absolutely right, it does read in poor taste. I hope you stick around to enjoy the stuff you like and aren’t chased away by the stuff that I readily admit can be quite offensive. By the way, you’re the first to mention the Wonder Woman statue! I had been doing these sculptures in the background for a while and one time on a whim through in a statue of Wolverine and thought it’d be fun to hide naked superhero statues in the backgrounds. I quickly discovered that most superheroes are unrecognizable without their costumes. So it was just an unlucky coincidence that that was in the background of a more tasteless comic.
