I disagree. I’m interested; I’m still trying to figure out if he’s being self-deprecatory (comparing his comics to some sot taking a dump) or defending graphic novels in general. It’s a fairly rare argument to defend one’s medium by observing that a medium further down the “scale” is also art. Typically, snobbery is the only way to go.
I disagree, too. This story is a really radical statement, plus the continuous switching of contexts and dialogue partners gives it a lot of forward spin. I find it gripping.
